In the not so distant past, I turned 30.

Ordered on Etsy :-P |
Naturally, the best way I could think to celebrate was to invite some of my favourite people over for brunch.
I ordered mini-pastries and a cake from
Rhubarbe and enlisted the help of my mother-in-law to make a few salads and other finger foods.

Yes it was as delicious as it looks - yum! |
Everyone crammed in to our one bedroom apartment, had mimosas in mason jars, and mingled.
It was such a treat for me to spend time with everyone. But! Little did I know, the biggest gift of all was coming later that year (and was already at the party!)...
...Fast forward to this year and we are celebrating our daughter Beatrice's first birthday.

A festive scene |
In keeping with our have-people-over-and-feed-them scheme, we had a little family brunch for her first birthday party. Both of Bea's grandmothers helped with the food prep and I just made
this cake.

The spread! The mini bagels from Kettleman's were a hit |
My sister came to Montreal with her crew for the weekend to participate in the festivities :-)

The cousins! (note my similar outfit...) |
Thanks to all who made both celebrations so special xox
