Vacation Photos - UK 2018

This past summer, we took Bea to the UK to introduce her to my extended family, as well as to participate in an important birthday.

Family photo by the River Teign

My English grandmother was turning 90-years-old and the family descended on sunny Devon to celebrate an incredible woman. Several of us rented a 'folly' for the time we were all together. The owner left us some champagne and scones, such a treat!

Cream tea for breakfast

I am a milk-first / cream-first type of person ;-)

We had a weekend of lunches out (here and here) and time together at the folly, which included a song for the birthday girl (to the tune of On a Bicycle Built for Two):

Betty, Betty, we’re thankful for all you do.
We’re so happy to spend this time with you.
You’re the glue that keeps us together,
We’ll be in Devon no matter the weather
(It’s always sunny in Devon!)
Our love is sweet,
It’s such a treat,
To have a Mum/Nana/Great-Nan like you.

Knitting, Cooking or even a chat or two,
We know that we can always rely on you.
Your garden’s an inspiration
To every generation.
Your plums are sweet,
Your stew’s a treat,
No wonder we all love you!

Happy 90th Birthday!!

Four generations :-)

Beatrice enjoyed meeting everyone, especially her great grandmothers...

...her fun-loving nature meant she was quite the hit :-)

After her first dip in the sea!

It wasn't always easy travelling with a baby, but I am so happy I have these photos to show Bea in the future as well as the memories that will last forever. x
