Hélicoptère

Not long after we moved to our new neighbourhood, Antoine sent me an e-mail with the subject: Ton nouveau Rhubarbe. You see, at our old apartment, it would not be hard for me to find an excuse to get a coffee and a treat or to take a friend for brunch at my favourite spot. Admittedly, it was one of the things I was going to miss after we moved. Luckily for me, at a stone's throw from our new home, we have Hélicoptère/Hélico Cafe  - a restaurant / coffee shop and all things amazing

The first three out of many more delicious servings

I have since been for numerous coffee dates with friends and my little family, my first dinner date night post-Bea, and one memorable brunch with my parents. When we went for brunch, Antoine and I were raving about the meal we had recently had to my parents, only to be blown away again by the food. Even Bea wanted extra portions from each of the plates!

When I was in the process of moving, I was having a hard time thinking of all the things/place/spaces we would leave behind in our old neighbourhood and couldn't decide if some momentos were important to take with me. A friend of mine who was looking after Bea while I was packing (thanks Simone!) reminded me that I would make new memories in my new home. Her advice ended up being useful to me while packing/unpacking, helping me to see that some things no longer felt 'right' in the new space and knowing that it was ok to leave a space blank for memories-in-waiting.

So, here is to making new memories, in my new home and neighbourhood, with my little family. x
